This is Planet Earth
2008 December 31
Of course this isn’t new and shouldn’t be unknown to any of you, but I managed to watch all 11 episodes in two days over Christmas and it filled me with amazement. A great new energy to start the new year. It probably wouldn’t hurt if you went out and got the DVDs for yourself. Yes. Seriously.

I love this; I watched about 5 episodes over the last couple of days.
…I should also add, the episodes were watched under duress— in between bouts of your lovely cousin snatching the remote and clicking on that exciting C-SPAN channel.
I LOVE these! They make me feel like a kid again, full of wonder about the world.
Last night we cranked out two more episodes. I’m amazed not only at the content, but at what unbelievable work these camerapeople did. Simply brilliant!
Hour upon hour of stunning visuals!!
We got the DVDs for my son last year, and he’s watched all of them multiple times. He’s a nature freak anyway, so he loves them. As long as they serve as an inspiration to get out in it, rather than a substitute, I think they are brilliant.
‘Blue Planet’ is also pretty damn good.
